Questions

Ten answers we give most weeks. If your question is about a painful or suddenly patchy scalp, skip the form and call your GP; we can still photograph the field afterwards if a doctor asks for a cosmetic record.

Questions

Booking and the first visit

Do I need a GP referral to book?

No. You can book the trichoscopic assessment directly. A referral is useful when a doctor already has a question they want imaged, and we will work from that letter, but it is not a condition of the visit. If we then see a picture that needs medical review, we will write the pack for you to take back.

What should I avoid in the 24–48 hours before I come in?

Do not wash the hair on the morning of the visit. Skip oils, dry shampoo, fibres, spray and leave-in styling. If you colour or bleach, try not to do that in the two days before the appointment; freshly processed fibre is a poor baseline. Bring a list of what you currently use. Older photographs of the same parting help us date the change, though they do not replace our own images.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. Jinfujeos provides cosmetic trichology services. We do not diagnose medical conditions and do not prescribe medicines. The written findings describe what the images show on the cosmetic plane and, when needed, list the questions that belong with your GP or a dermatologist. We will not use diagnostic language to dress up a cosmetic plan.

Programs

Length, limits and stopping

How long is a program, and can I stop after the assessment?

Programs run 12, 16 or 24 weeks because that is the shortest span in which we will read a growth-cycle change. The assessment is a separate, paid service. You can take the visit and the PDF and stop there. We would rather write a clear “no program needed” than invent a block to fill the book.

Do you do transplants or write prescriptions?

Neither. There is no theatre, no graft work and no prescribing pad in this clinic. If transplantation or a medicine is the right next conversation, we will say so and send the images with you. We do not keep you in a cosmetic program in order to postpone that conversation.

What if the scalp is inflamed, sore or weeping when I arrive?

Tell us when you book if you already have open sores or spreading tenderness. On the day, we will photograph what is safe to photograph and stop cosmetic treatment. Painful or weeping lesions, sudden patches and scarring patterns are referred. We will not needle, exfoliate or load actives onto broken skin.

Fees

Deposits, payment and moving a time

How do deposits and payment work?

A A$50 deposit holds the appointment and is credited to the fee on the day. We take cards and bank transfer. The published prices include GST. The 24-week Density program can be paid in three equal parts. There is no extra till fee for using a card. The full table is on the fees page.

What happens if I need to cancel or move the booking?

Give us 24 hours or more and the deposit stays on a new time. Shorter notice and non-attendance are described on the refunds and cancellations page. If we cancel, the deposit is returned or moved at your choice. If we pause a program because a medical issue appears, unused sessions are settled under that same page.

Visit

Getting here and what to expect afterwards

Where do I park, and how do I find Level 4?

We are at Level 4, 118 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000. The nearest rail is Flinders Street; trams along Swanston, Collins and Flinders Street stop a short walk away. There is no clinic car park. The closest commercial stations are on Flinders Street and Exhibition Street. The building lift is in the Flinders Lane lobby; we will send the suite details with the booking confirmation. Allow extra time on Saturday mornings, when the lane is busier.

When do I receive the written findings?

Within three working days of the assessment, by email, as a PDF. It includes the marked images, the four markers by zone, a plain-language reading, and any items we think your GP should see. Release of the document does not depend on booking a program. If a phototrichogram was added, the ratio is written after the second visit.

Still unsure

If the question is not on this list

Write to [email protected] or use the booking form and put the question in the message field. We answer during clinic hours. We will not give a remote reading from a phone photograph; those files are too uncontrolled to stand in for a marked field.

A question that needs a marked field

We will not guess from a selfie. Book the hour if you want numbers.
